"As an avid listener to music, I like my music 'spoon fed'
by listening to streaming radio stations and XM. With the new legislation
planned to charge streaming stations an unreasonable royalty system,
most stations will me forced to go off the air or drastically change
their playlists.
The ONLY way I know about good independent music is through listening
to my favorite stations. Often being frustrated by not being able
to BUY a song I hear played because there is no information available.
I don't have time to go looking for it. Musicians are constantly looking
for ways to promote their music and get it out to the eager ears that
want to hear it.
Streaming Stations
Streaming stations are always looking for content for their programs
they air. Although there ARE resources out there on the web they can
rely on for most of their content, there is no one 'Clearing house'
or one place they can go to look. Our plans are to first put up a
Signup page where musicians and streaming station operators can sign
up.
Blog
Next we plan to put up a blog for streaming operators and musicians
so they can share their ideas on how this venue should be constructed
to help them out with ideas.
After that, during an implementation phase, we plan to start with
a very small list of participating streaming stations and musicians
(people who are already working together if possible), because this
venue will be of no use if it has a small membership. Obviously membership
will be free.
Royalty Free Music Pools
Another nice feature we plan is to allow participating musicians to
upload the songs they want to streaming stations to check out, and
all gets put into a "pool" of New Music and Current Music...
when a streaming station picks a song, the musician will be notified
when they log into their OWN membership account. At which time, they
can choose to tell streaming stations about their new release, write
up and send them promotional material, and ALL stations have to agree
to convey to the listener how they can buy the song.
Goals
Our long range plans are to develop 2 major Mac Desktop programs.
One a special "player" that can play the streaming stations
but with additional features like a BUY button. When they hear a song
they want in their personal library, they press BUY and are either
directed to the musicians site, or to iTunes if the song is available
from there. Nobody has this important feature.
Proof
of Fame
Musicians who are popular and are seeking a record deal will have
a powerful tool at their disposal - Proof of fame. Musicians can generate
an accurate Popularity report identifying the stations that play their
music, how often it's played, into an easy to read report they can
send to their music agent.
I know of no musician who wants to know how their tunage is accepted...
now they can know this. They can focus their work to specific regions
based on the general music tastes in that area. en2unes is an International
Venue, and all are welcome to come and play in our Playground and
have a say on the "rules of engagements".
